1. Marketplace platform
Sernelo operates an online marketplace that connects buyers and sellers of rare and collectable objects. Sernelo is not a party to any sale between users and does not own, store or ship the lots listed on the platform unless expressly stated.
2. Lot descriptions and condition
Lot descriptions, condition reports, images and estimates are provided by sellers and reviewed by Sernelo specialists where indicated. They are opinions and are not a guarantee or independent certification of authenticity, value or condition. Buyers should review all information carefully and seek independent professional advice before bidding on high-value items.
3. Binding bids
Placing a bid is a binding commitment to purchase the lot at the winning bid price plus any buyer’s commission, shipping, taxes, duties and other applicable fees. Please do not bid if you are not able to complete the transaction.
4. Seller responsibilities
Sellers must describe lots accurately, disclose known faults, and dispatch sold items promptly and securely. Prohibited, counterfeit or misrepresented items are not allowed. Sernelo may remove listings, suspend accounts or withhold payments where we believe terms have been breached.
5. Fees and payments
Buyers may be charged a buyer’s commission and any shipping, insurance, tax or import duties. Sellers may be charged listing, commission and payment-processing fees. All fees are displayed before a transaction is confirmed. Payment is processed through our third-party payment providers.
6. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Sernelo’s liability is limited to the fees and commissions we have earned in connection with a disputed transaction. We are not liable for the actions of buyers, sellers, shipping carriers or third-party services, or for any indirect, incidental or consequential losses.
7. Third-party links and services
The platform may contain links to third-party websites or integrations. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices or reliability of any third-party service.
8. Disputes and governing law
Disputes should first be raised through our client care team. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it will be governed by the laws applicable to Sernelo’s operating jurisdiction and resolved through the competent courts in that jurisdiction, unless local consumer law requires otherwise.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update this page from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted means you accept the revised terms. Material changes will be highlighted where required by law.
